Zelenskyy Holds Talks with Witkoff, Kushner on Peace Push
Writing on X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, Zelenskyy described the exchange as "very positive" and said the conversation centered on advancing peace efforts, even as global attention remains heavily focused on escalating tensions surrounding Iran.
The Ukrainian president said both Witkoff and Kushner conveyed a clear readiness to intensify their engagement in the weeks ahead, pledging active involvement in reviving stalled negotiations despite the competing demands on Washington's diplomatic bandwidth.
The call also touched on the diplomatic calendar, with discussions covering the outlook for the upcoming G7 summit and other key events scheduled throughout June.
"I outlined the data we have regarding what Moscow is intent on," Zelenskyy said, adding that he appreciated their "positive assessment of Ukraine's positions."
The conversation builds on earlier signals from Zelenskyy himself. Speaking to media on May 31, he indicated that he expected both Witkoff and Kushner to travel to Kyiv within a two-week window — a visit that, if confirmed, would mark a significant escalation in direct U.S. diplomatic engagement with Ukraine.
